Build Youtube in React tutorial series updated
It has been a while ever since the Build Youtube in React tutorial series came out.
Since then YouTube has made a couple of adjustments – especially for accessibility reasons and has made the thumbnails in the home feed significantly larger.
I decided to account for that change so that the clone is more similar to the original again.

Basically, it was just a couple of cosmetic changes and changing a few pixel values. That’s why I will not go into detail for them.
Here’s how the home feed looks right now:
Apart from that I also added the ability to pass the YouTube Data API key as an environment variable instead of hardcoding it.
This is important – especially when you want to deploy it to some hosting service. After all, no values should be hard-coded in there.
I also updated the Readme with the proper instructions on how to run the application when you want to provide the API key as an environment variable
